Azur Ensemble

Azur Ensemble
Continuo Grantee

Azur Ensemble was formed at the Royal College of Music in the autumn 2023, by four students and graduates from this institution: Joseph Lowe, violinist, Johanka Sniehottova, recorder player, Xavier Lowe, cellist, and Apolline Khou, harpsichordist.

Driven by the same passion for fiery and poetical interpretations, they balance their different personalities within the ensemble, and have developed a unique chemistry on stage. Recent performances include concerts in Copenhagen and in the UK.

Their latest project, supported by Continuo Foundation, "A Journey to London", is a tribute to their respective heritages and to London, where they all met, and highlights different baroque pieces from their native countries - Spain, Czech Republic, and France - from composers who travelled to London, and from English composers.
