Devon Baroque

Devon Baroque was founded 23 years ago by Margaret Faultless (currently co-leader of the Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment, amongst other posts) with support from a number of local baroque music enthusiasts. At the time she lived in the west country and saw a need to give local people the opportunity to hear baroque music played by professional musicians on period specific instruments.

Her original inspiration for a Devon based, professional and authentic baroque orchestra has continued and today the orchestra plays about six concerts per year in Devon with occasional forays into surrounding counties. Our Musical Director is Andrew Wilson-Dickson and our Artistic Director is Persephone Gibbs. They are supported by the charity’s trustees and a management committee, none of whom are paid but who all bring expertise useful to the orchestra.
