Illyria Consort

Bojan Čičić originally founded The Illyria Consort to explore rare repertoire of the 17th and 18th centuries from the Venetian Republic and the Habsburg Empire. The group was invited to perform at early music festivals in the UK, Belgium, France and Croatia.

Their recordings have achieved great critical acclaim; their debut recording of Giovanni Stefano Carbonelli: Sonate da camera Nos. 1-6 was chosen as one of Presto Classical’s “Presto Recordings of the Year” for 2017 and in 2021 the recording of music by composers born on the Croatian coast in the 16th century titled Adriatic Voyage won another Presto Recording of the Year Award.

In 2022 they released the first ever complete recording of Johann Jakob Walther: Scherzi da Violino and a Christmas instrumental album titled La Notte.
