International Baroque Consort

The International Baroque Consort is an historically informed chamber ensemble, performing music mainly from the 17th and 18th centuries. Our current formation is natural trumpet, soprano, baroque cello, and harpsichord. In April 2022, the IBC went on tour to the USA, featuring as Guest Artist at the North American Baroque Trumpet Competition and Conference at the University of Kentucky, and the Artist in Residence at Ft Lewis College, Durango. In addition to giving concerts and masterclasses, the IBC visited primary and secondary schools for group coaching and individual lessons. The IBC strives to create engaging performances and provide educational opportunities for a wide range of people. Recent events include a concert in Glasgow and a kids music workshop in Manchester.

Members of the International Baroque Consort are graduates of the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland and Royal Northern College of Music, bringing with them a wealth of knowledge and expertise in performance and teaching. The IBC has to date presented programmes of English and Italian music, featuring composers Henry Purcell and Alessandro Scarlatti. For 2023/2024, we are delighted to present 'Música de España’, a programme celebrating Spanish Baroque music. We will showcase this fascinating and unique music on tour with us around the UK, Europe, and the USA.
