Musica Antica Rotherhithe

Musica Antica Rotherhithe is a mixed ensemble of young and seasoned professional instrumentalists and singers specialising in historical performance. Founded in 2016, we bring regular, accessible and affordable concerts of music from the 15th to 18th Centuries to South East London, particularly championing repertoire currently under-represented in the UK – from the chansons and barzellette of fifteenth-century France and Italy to seventeenth-century opera.

Highlights of our recent work include the UK premieres of Michelangelo Falvetti's Diluvio Universale (2020) and Domenico Belli's Orfeo Dolente (2021) and the release of the first-ever collection of arias from the operas of Francesco Cavalli in a free performing edition that has since been downloaded over 2,000 times.
