Annabel Knight

Flute, Recorder

Recorder player and historical flautist Annabel Knight is a founder member of both the baroque ensemble Passacaglia and the recorder quartet Fontanella, with whom she has toured and performed extensively across Europe and the US. She has recorded albums for Naxos (including Gordon Jacob’s complete works for recorder with the Maggini String Quartet), as well as for Linn Records and BCR. As a freelance player she has played for film and TV (including appearing on 8 out of 10 Cats Does Countdown) and has more recently explored the wonderful world of wind synthesizer as part of the group Art of Moog. Annabel is currently head of the recorder department at the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire and runs the annual Woodhouse Recorder Courses; she also regularly coaches for the National Youth Recorder Orchestras (NYRO) and Recorders for All. During lockdown she started new online music business, AK Music, producing arrangements of early music, jazz and pop for recorder ensembles.
