Eleanor Cramer started her vocal studies at the junior department of the Royal Academy of Music, where she also studied cello. She began singing at Cambridge when she won a choral award at Clare College. She went on to sing with the choir of Sidney Sussex College, the vocal consort Alamire, the Lady Frances Singers and as a soloist with the viol consort Chelys; she has also sung with the Choir of London in collaboration with the RPO. Eleanor is a member of the Fairhaven Singers, leads community choir Sing Out, and performs and records regularly with the renaissance consort Passamezzo, including their collaborations with Essaouira's Ensemble Mogador. Her stage work has included the role of Miles in Britten’s The Turn of the Screw. In addition to several CDs with Passamezzo, her recording work includes Alamire and solo tracks on a disk of Weelkes with the viol consort Fretwork, which was shortlisted for a Gramophone award. Eleanor recently co-created a series of concerts celebrating women composers.
