TnT

TnT are a duo made up of recorder players Teresa Wrann and Thomas Pickering. Having met at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama during their studies and worked together on several consort and opera projects, they now lead the Baroque ensemble Apollo’s Cabinet. After receiving a consistent, enthusiastic response from colleagues and audiences alike whenever they performed a duet together, TnT is their project as a duo.

“The 'Cuckoo Sonatas' by William Williams and Edward Finch were played with great virtuosity and a beautiful sound by Teresa Wrann and Thomas Pickering and offered a fine listening experience. The clever twist was the use of the room, where the musicians had the audience between them, which offered a unique listening experience most suitable for the echos and sounds of nature.” - Kulturzeitschrift

"Less explosive than dynamite (only just), but still full of chemistry and spark, they explore ways of combining duet repertoire with interesting concepts that highlight their twoness. They enjoy exploring how to match their sounds without losing their individuality and finding a balance between independent freedom and being part of one unit."

“Lovely recorder playing from Thomas Pickering and Teresa Wrann accompanied the goddess-mortal smooching” - Opera Today, about Venus & Adonis

“It was clear that the performers not only relished Blow's music, but the very particular sound-world of 17th century London.” - Planet Hugill about Venus & Adonis

One of their recent projects has been the world premiere recording of the Walsh arrangements of Sonatas by Handel and Loeillet, as part of their ensemble’s new album.
