A spectacular programme of music for double choir and double orchestra. Vivaldi is a name familiar to almost all music lovers, but that of Diogenio Bigaglia (c.1678 – c.1745) probably less so, even to Baroque music enthusiasts.

Thanks to the research of Professor Michael Talbot, who will give a pre-concert talk, this performance of music for the evening service of Vespers will include the first modern performance of Bigaglia’s setting of Dixit Dominus. This richly scored psalm setting includes Soprano and Alto soloists, a six part choir (SSAATB) , trumpet, oboes, bassoon, strings, and a large continuo section including two organs.
