Ana y La Locura

Je suis la Folie

Ana Beard Fernandez (soprano), Iain Hall (cello)
Je suis la Folie
Soprano and percussionist Ana Beard Fernandez, and her multi-instrumentalist ensemble La Locura, present a short recital showcasing a diverse repertoire from Scotland, England, Spain, France, and Italy. Ana will be joined by Kristiina Watt (lute, theorbo) and Dominika Maszczynska (harpsichord).

They open with Henri du Bailly's "Yo Soy La Locura" and close with MacMillan’s wistful ‘Scots Song.’ These pieces bookend a programme that spans disgruntled shepherds, unrequited love and Bedlam’s Mad Bess.

Throughout the performance, Ana Beard Fernandez's poise and beauty of tone transports the audience across the rich musical landscapes of the Baroque era. - Planet Hugill
