Intesa

Intesa at Handel Hendrix House

Intesa at Handel Hendrix House
Join us for a truly unique live music experience in Jimi Hendrix’s former flat. Our musicians will be playing original music throughout the flat, creating unforgettable moments in this historic space. The series will end with a bang at Saint Pancras Old Church to celebrate Jimi’s birthday.

The opening act will fuse contemporary and baroque elements, acknowledging the influence of Jimi’s great musical neighbour, George Frederic Handel. Intesa is a singing, songwriting, folk and baroque-playing viol duo. There will then be an interval for you to explore Hendrix’s London pad, after which an intimate acoustic performance will begin in Jimi’s bedroom.

"Intesa was formed at the Royal Academy of Music by Lucine Musaelian and Nathan Giorgetti. Brought together by our common passion for the sound of the viol, its combination with the voice, the overlap between folk and baroque music, and the performance of new music on viols, our programmes are centred around the art of self-accompaniment across different genres. Our goal as an ensemble is to tell stories in our performances through cultivating what we know about Historical Performance practice in a contemporary context."
