In 1735, having left Handel's opera orchestra, Francesco Barsanti settled in Edinburgh, becoming active with the Edinburgh Musical Society. Gerry McDonald (recorder) and John Kitchen (harpsichord) contrast him with his Italian colleagues, Geminiani, Sammartini, Veracini and Castrucci and of course the great Handel himself. Featuring the 1709 Thomas Barton harpsichord.
