Night Music
Come and enjoy by candlelight an evocative evening of solo violin music from the 17th and 18th centuries. This was an extraordinary period of development for the violin and this concert will include selected movements from the sonatas and partitas by the great J.S Bach, fantasies by the highly popular G.F Telemann, and feature in particular the iconic Passacaglia in D minor by the earlier virtuosic violinist and composer Heinrich Biber, a work which was to have a huge influence on the masterpieces for solo violin which were to come later.

With the pace and noise of modern life ever more hectic, here is an opportunity to step back in time for an hour of sublime, intimate music from the Baroque!

  • festival Salisbury Musick
  • date Fri, 3 October 2025
  • location The Medieval Hall, Salisbury
  • time 8:30pm
