Holy Week is a poignant moment in the year, and grief touches all of us at some point during our lives, affecting each person differently. This beautiful programme explores mourning and loss, uncertainty and hope. Byrd and Bingham beautifully capture a sense of surrender to a higher power, asking for forgiveness and protection. Music by Tavener and Morales presents a series of questions, seeking reassurance for those whose lives are at an end, and settings by Richard Rodney Bennett and Joanna Marsh remind to enjoy all that life has to offer, and not to let grief overwhelm us.
