The Night Shift Back at The Old Queen's Head

Julia Kuhn (violin), Bethany Horak-Hallet (mezzo-soprano)

The Night Shift Back at The Old Queen's Head
A time travelling tour of the British Isles and Ireland with violinist Julia Kuhn, singer Bethany Horak-Hallet and friends.

Put on your musical hiking boots as we head to all corners (and beyond) to unearth the stunning variety our islands have to offer and have inspired. The setlists will include pieces from some of the better known names to have lived and worked on these shores – such as Handel, Tobias Hume and Joseph Haydn – to more unfamiliar figures such as Johann Christoph Pepusch, Thomas Roseingrave and Matthew Dubourg and traditional and folk songs from England, Scotland, Wales and Ireland – including an arrangement of Irish songs by Rebecca Clarke.

No rollicking grand tour would be complete without some communal singing, of course.

The Night Shift is our series of informal chamber music gigs – literally music for smaller rooms, in the home or other places where people socialise. They’re a chance to hear the members of the OAE playing music that they’re passionate about and bringing in a wide range of musical influences. So come along, grab a drink with friends (or meet some new ones) and enjoy the music.

There are two ticket price choices for The Night Shift. Our suggested price is £13 or you can ‘pay what you choose’ by entering your amount (with a £7 minimum up to as much as you like!).

  • date Wed, 23 April 2025
  • location The Old Queen's Head, Islington
  • time 8:00pm
  • ticket £7-£13
