Full Event Details
Thomas Weelkes, organist and master of the choristers at Chichester Cathedral in the early 1600s, died almost exactly 400 years ago today. BBC Radio 3 Choral Evensong marks the anniversary, with the Cathedral Choir and Rose Consort performing his Magnificat and Nunc Dimittis [Sixth Service] and the anthems 'O mortal man' and 'What joy so true'. The Rose Consort also performs music by Weelkes before and after the service: pavans and an In nomine.
