Picture the scene: you've just arrived at your relatives for Christmas in the 1620s, and they like a good party. Vocal ensemble Siglo de Oro combine with instrumentalists from the Spinacino Consort in a programme that brings to life the traditional twelve days of Christmas through a lively combination of 17th century ballads, broadsides, dances and carols.

Traditional melodies from Britain and Ireland feature alongside music by leading composers of the day such as William Byrd. The result is a feast of joyful sounds to brighten the darkest nights of the year.
