Georg Philipp Telemann’s (1681-1767) progressive zeitgeist and inventiveness rendered him highly esteemed by colleagues and audiences alike. In 1721 he launched a subscription service that would enable his supporters to receive new compositions hot-off-the-press. Subscribers ranged from the nobility to amateur musicians and also illustrious composers. Tabea Debus & The Cedar Consort, directed by Benedict Williams, are delighted to be performing music by J.S.
