Join us for a unique performance of music by renowned Austrian composer, Anton Bruckner alongside his contemporaries from the glorious Romantic period.

The programme focuses on masterpieces such as Bruckner’s famed Motets for trombones, voices & organ, and his instrumental Aequale for trombones; including rare and recently discovered works (including at least one UK Premiere & first modern-day performance) of music for trombones & voices by fellow Austrian and lodger of Bruckner, Wenzel Gottlieb Lambel. A cappella works and organ solos from the period offer further context to this musical feast.

The evening concert will be preceded by a workshop for trombonists of all ages, with a chance to not only hear about the history and development of the trombone, but also a rare opportunity to try out a number of rare original Romantic trombones used for the Coronation of King Charles III.

Furthermore, participants will have a chance to take part in the concert too under expert guidance from The Concert Trombone Quartette and directed by Leicester-born bass trombonist, Adrian France.
