Kino-Teatr: a venue with a difference
Introducing St Leonard-on-Sea’s Kino-Teatr - run with an experienced eye for the arts

Kino-Teatr is an independent venue with a difference. Located in St. Leonards-on-Sea, close to Hastings, in East Sussex, it is a cinema, concert venue, gallery, and restaurant all in one - and just a 2-minute walk from the sea. Owned and run by Russell Baker and Olga Mamonova, the couple rescued the building and returned the site to its original purpose, filling it with 20th-century Russian art, good films, and great music.

For fans of early music, it is worth checking out the Kino-Teatr concert programme from time to time. Just recently, on a wild and windy November afternoon, Zarek Ensemble performed their new Giro d’Italia programme, and the Hastings Chamber Music Festival, held in association with the Hastings Early Music Festival and run by violinist Jane Gordon, uses the space as one of their festival venues.

With a bar at the back of the cinema / concert hall and comfy seats, you can relax with a drink and enjoy some good music in the pleasant acoustic.

Kino-Teatr is one of those venues that is run by enthusiastic people with wide-ranging cultural interests, a vital centre of the local music scene. Check it out.
Kino-Teatr can be found at 43-49 Norman Road, St Leonards on Sea, East Sussex, TN38 0EG and online at https://www.kino-teatr.co.uk.
