Lilium Convallium

Dixit Dominus

Bach Magnificat & Händel Dixit Dominus

The Handful Chamber Choir
Dixit Dominus
Lilium Convallium, a London-based up-and-coming early music ensemble, ventures to Bath and joins forces with Bath-based The Handful Chamber Choir to perform a double bill of high Baroque choral/orchestral masterpieces: J S Bach's Magnificat in D and Händel's Dixit Dominus. It will be the two ensembles' first meeting, and Lilium welcomes guest performers to expand their forces to that of a full Baroque orchestra. The exciting edge of Händel's raw, powerful psalm setting, dating from his years in Rome, will be complemented by the sheer joy of Bach's setting of the Canticle of Mary. This won't be one to miss!
