To hear Monteverdi’s Vespers of 1610 performed live is to travel in time, and to experience some of the greatest choral music of any era – a ritual charged with all the splendour and pageantry of Venice at the height of its golden age. To do it justice demands a certain flair for theatre, and that’s exactly what you can expect in this concert, with the virtuoso vocal ensemble I Fagiolini.
