About
The Tilford Bach Festival is traditionally held in All Saint’s Tilford, a beautiful Victorian church set on the village green and cricket ground in an area of outstanding natural beauty on the Surrey and Hampshire border. It has a unique and relaxed atmosphere where we encourage performers to meet and mix with the audience during intervals and after each concert or recital.
We are proud that in 2026 we will be celebrating our 74th anniversary, and that our orchestra in residence – the London Handel Players under our Musical Director, Adrian Butterfield – is celebrating its 26th anniversary. Adrian is Professor of Baroque Violin at the Royal College of Music in London. Other respected musicians perform at the Festival – both established professionals, and young players at the start of their careers.
The London Handel Players, praised by the New York Times for their “soulful depth” and their “consummate skill and musicianship”, captivate audiences across the world with their performances and recordings. Established in 2000, the Players appear regularly at leading venues and festivals in the UK, Europe and North America, performing baroque chamber music and concertos and collaborating with the world’s leading singers.
